Included in the Mental and Behavioral Health Program:
- A 2-hour educational program which includes:
Communicating with clients with mental illnesses
Common psychiatric disorders including causes, clinical signs and behaviors,
treatments, and interventions
Signs of substance abuse by drug, treatment measures for drug addiction, and
symptoms of overdose
A list of mental health resources
- Information on medications for mental health diagnoses:
Commonly used drugs including antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, antidepressants,
and anti-anxiety drugs
Intended uses, possible side-effects, and potential risks
- Mental Health Emergency Plan
Provides guidance to the RN in developing client-specific plans
- Mental Health Forms including:
Mental Health Vulnerability Assessment
Mental Health Care Plan for Unlicensed Staff
Behavioral Flowsheet
Psychiatric Clinic Referral
Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale (AIMS)
Narcan Protocol
